Nutrition should come primarily from foods

A person's nutrient needs should be met through consuming primarily natural foods, within each person's daily caloric needs.
Where excess calories is a problem, people need to choose meals that are low or moderate in energy content, that is adequate nutrients need to be provided within calorie needs. Meeting nutrient recommendations must go hand go hand in hand with keeping calories under control.



Poor diet contributes to under nutrition as well as over nutrition both major problems in India.
Through an appropriate diet both can be prevented.
